CardCritics is a credit card comparison site started in February 2020. Starting this company a month before the Covid quarantine started definitely helped and hindered us at the same time. It allowed us to have more time to build out the company, but the future of credit cards and the economy were all up in the air as well with issuers and investors unsure of the credit card marketplace. Having that time and uncertainty allow us to be able to build the site as we wanted and structured in a way that we knew would be flexible and effective regardless of issuers and content.


CardCritics

CardCritics provides the users information to help them select the right type of credit card for their situation. We generated traffic from content and display marketing campaigns, passing our users on to the credit card issuer sites to sign up for credit cards.

Goal:
Create a site that had a fresh clean look, with a design that allowed the content to be easily digestible and scannable.

Sub and Mobile Pages

Issuers all have different types of content for each “bucket” of information about their credit cards. This means that we have to allow for these spaces to work with just 3 words or a whole paragraph of content. The UI/UX experience has to be responsive and allow for multiple types of information regardless of the card or issuer, while still looking uniform and easily readable. The box format allowed for that and enabled us to still create a grid like approach to the information that lets the user scan through the card information points.

With sub-content pages being the main landing pages from our content marketing campaigns, these become our most effective pages. The traffic to these pages don’t usually browse our site (that’s why we have minimal navigation on the page), so we need to give the users as much decisive information as we can on these pages to help drive the click to apply on the issuers site.
